They literally were kids in a candy store, except these kids were here to watch a demonstration by Purity Candy’s Candymaker John Burfeindt Junior as he went through the process of making candy canes. What he says is the most difficult candy to make but one that he appears to be able to make in his sleep. Purity has two very successful locations in Union County and we’ll hear more about Christmas and their other busy seasons. Not too far away from here, across the West Branch in Montandon sits Pardoe’s Perky Peanuts. This company tapped into the peanut business a long time ago and has since expanded into trail mix and flavored pretzels. So, once you get over the fact that they’re in Montandon, we’ll tell you which snack led to their big break.
